Our Padres and the Mariners close out the first series of Spring Training today. Former Mariner Freddy Garcia will get the start and pitch two frames against Seattle in the rubber game. The 36-year-old vet will try to impress in his Spring debut to help put him in the running for a rotation spot this season.
Casey Kelly will follow Garcia with two innings on the mound as well. Dale Thayer, Luke Gregerson, Fautino De Los Santos, Daniel Stange, and Kevin Quackenbush are each scheduled for an inning.
Everth Cabrera will lead off today, with Chris Denorfia and Chase Headley rounding out the top of the order. This will be our first look at Headley this Spring, along with Cameron Maybin, Logan Forsythe, and Mark Kotsay.
