Padres lose a series against the Diamondbacks for the first time in forever

For me, I think that this team doesn't have anything else to prove this season. So we lose the series to the Diamondbacks. Don't go hurting yourself out there trying to chase the .1% chance at the playoffs. Be wise.

Carlos Quentin, who maybe rushed himself back a little bit in his desire to play looked a bit hobbled out on the field and ultimately, the loss only stings in that it feels like it's been a while since we've lost a series.

I think something happens when I get excited again about how the team is doing. I start telling people that they should turn on the TV/radio or go to a game because the team is playing that good. And then I finally get them to do it and they promptly drop two to the Diamondbacks.

So I'll just save it. I'll save it for next season (or at least until the Dodger series). I'm still excited about 2013 and these last couple weeks of baseball will just have to be savored since I won't be getting a proper fix of a true playoff run until next year.

Go Padres!
