Padres won last night with a big 6th inning. They're awesome.

If you missed the game like I did you'll be pleased to hear that the Padres smoked the Marlins last night. I recorded the game but 7 hours of Olympic coverage forced all my Padres programs to be deleted. I had like 4 POV's and 3 Padres Weeklys saved up. All gone! Oh well. It's nice to have a clean slate even if the DVR will be filled with another 7 hours of Olympics today.

Annnyway, I did get to see the 6th inning. The Padres brought 11 hitters to the plate. Yasmani Grandal hit a triple to dead center that went over the head of the center fielder and to the wall clearing the bases. Yonder Alonso was up next and drove in Grandal. It appeared that the Marlins defense wasn't in a huge hurry to get to the balls either, just taking their sweet time as runners kept scoring.

While earlier in the game Maybin made a diving catch to save runs, later in the game he hit a bases clearing double too. Pretty much if as a Padre you had any connection to Miami, they put on a performance last night.

Here just watch the game highlights.
