There are rumors flying this way and that way that the Padres are going to be trading Chase Headley at any moment to somebody, but who knows who.
Buster Olney thinks the Yankees are in the mix...
As of 1:50, the Yankees hadn't had a conversation with the Padres about Chase Headley. There will be.

Jon Heyman, who wants you to believe he's more baseball than Buster Olney, thinks no:
market so strong for #padres headley he's almost sure to go. #yanks unlikely tho. cbsprt.co/PJ2qyx

You know how I know Jon Heyman wants to remind you that he covers baseball better than Buster Olney? Because his Twitter page shows him carrying a bat, which is the tool of somebody who plays baseball, but also, apparently, somebody who covers baseball very well.
Not lost in all of this is the Twitter account of Dave Winfield, which is salivating at the opportunity to make a comment regarding a Padres star moving to the Yankees to win a World Series and maybe kill a seagull in a symbolic gesture of how things that are associated with beach towns can easily be sacrificed in the name of Yankee Superstardom.
