Padres lose a billion to one to Giants

Clayton Richard was due to get shelled. It was only a matter of time.

The Giants jumped on him early. Theriot hit a double. Melky hit an infield single. Posey hit an RBI single. Sandoval walked. Pagan drew a bases loaded walk. Arias grounded out but Posey scored. Then Crawford singled to open up a 4 nothing lead.

Then in the 5th Buster Posey hit a 3 run homer. There's your 7 runs.

The Padres offense didn't do much of anything. Kotsay scored in the 4th on a Alonso sac fly.

Tomorrow around the water cooler, you can talk about how badly umps suck. They overturned a Kotsay trapped ball in the outfield after initially calling it a catch.

They eventually got the call right but still they suck.

Then some Giant was called out for not touching first base even though he did. This is a lesson to all the Little Leaguers out there. When making a move on a girl, be real deliberate about 1st base. Make sure you really french her good before getting all handsy. It's called chivalry.
