Our boys are looking to bounce back and take the series today after falling in extras last night. Ross Ohlendorf will take on the task of trying to keep the Rockies off the scoreboard while giving our taxed bullpen some rest after last night's 12-inning affair. Ohlendorf has yet to take a loss as a Padres starter, and hopefully today won't be the first time. His most recent start resulted in a win over the Astros. The right-hander lasted six strong innings, holding Houston to just one run on six hits and a walk while striking out six. It was his third and best start for San Diego, and he will try to repeat that success against Colorado today.

The Rockies will send left-hander Christian Friedrich to the mound to try to add onto his team-high win total. However, he has been inconsistent in his recent starts. He allowed six earned runs in 4 1/3 innings against the Cardinals on July 5th. His next time out he limited the Phillies to just one earned run in six innings. In his most recent start, he gave up five to the Pirates in 4 2/3 innings. If he continues that pattern, our offense will have to work extra hard to get some runs off him in today's rubber match. Friedrich was successful in limiting our Padres to just one run when he pitched against us on June 30th at Coors Field. But our offense has looked really good, for the most part, this series so hopefully they can keep the production up and come out on the winning end today.

GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!!
