Welp.

The Astros broke their 13 game road losing streak by beating the Padres. They played like champions. They scored on two sacrifice fly balls in the 1st and again in the 3rd. Kip Wells had no control of his pitches and took the loss.

In the bottom of the 7th the Padres had their best opportunity to fail and they took advantage. They loaded up the bases with a Jesus Guzman double, a Logan Forsythe walk and a base on balls to Cameron Maybin. Then Everth Cabrera struck out and Yonder Alonso flew out to center. Classic Padres.

Bud Black said Carlos Quentin's late scratch was because "his knee was a little sore". He didn't seem to like that that was the first question of the post game press conference. To paraphrase "Did you want to talk about the game first? I mean it's your choice. We could talk about the game first or that. So what's it going to be? The game or Quentin?" Real sarcastic that Bud Black. Very testy after a punch in the gut loss. Hopefully they'll have it up on line later.

I'll be at the game tomorrow being all sarcastic and testy. "I learned it you! I learned it from watching you!"
