Our Padres look to even up the series tonight after dropping the second-half opener in a 2-1 heartbreaker. Former Padre Aaron Harang will toe the rubber for the Dodgers tonight and try to help them keep their lead in the NL West. This will be his fourth start against us this season and he's gone 1-1 in his previous three. They will try to build off the momentum from their win last night and hope that Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier's return to the lineup can boast bigger rewards tonight. Aaron Harang will try to keep our Padres in check by building off his last start against Cincy on the Fourth of July. He gave up only one run, a solo homer, on three hits in seven innings of work while walking just one and striking out five. He's had a decent year, having gone 6-5 so far in 17 games.
Edinson Volquez will try to get our Padres back in the win column tonight. That might be a tall order, however, as we haven't won a game at Chavez Ravine in over a year. But Volquez has been one of our most consistent starting pitchers this year, and one of only two who have remained in the rotation since Opening Day. Volquez, although lacking control, has put up 11 quality starts in 18 tries this season. It will be up to our offense to back him up with some runs tonight, and hopefully they won't have a repeat of last night's performance.
GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!! BEAT LA!!
