Kip Wells pitched 7 scoreless innings. Kip. Wells.

In the top of the third Chris Denorfia and his flowing mullet scored on a throwing error by third basemen Jordan Pacheco. It was the only run the Padres would need, but they added on one more for good measure. In the 7th fan favorite Denorfia singled to right field scoring Alexi Amarista who had singled earlier in the inning.

Luke Gregerson relieved Wells in the 8th and pitched a scoreless frame.

The Padres newest All-Star Huston Street came in to save the game in the 9th. He struck out Colvin swinging, forced Pacheco to pop up and struck out Herrera to end the game.
