Undefeated in June! Oh yeah! Last night's game was a fun one that resulted in a 7-1 Padres victory to open up the homestand. Now we will see if the offense can keep up for the rest of the series.
After a six-game losing streak on the road, Edinson Volquez will try to get us started on a winning streak as he takes the mound tonight. His last start wasn't terrible, but it wasn't his best either. He gave up a couple of runs in 5 2/3 innings of work while walking three batters. Volquez will be trying to end a personal losing streak as well. He has lost his last three starts and a loss tonight would tie a career-high four-game losing streak. As recipient of the lowest run support average in the league, he hopes the lineup will be able to come through for him like they did last night.
Pitching for Arizona will be Daniel Hudson, who is making his second start since coming off the DL last week. The Diamondbacks have gone 1-3 to start their six-game road trip, so Hudson will try to stop the bleeding. He has had plenty of success pitching against San Diego in five previous starts against us, earning a 4-1 career record and 1.72 career ERA. We'll see if he can continue his dominance over our Padres today.

Yasmani Grandal is still riding the bench with Nick Hundley still in the lineup. Hundley hit a rally-extending sac fly last night and made a nice play to second to catch Chris Young stealing. We'll see if he can prove his worth even more tonight.
GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!!
