Fresh off our first series win of the season, our Padres take on the Marlins and hope to extend their winning streak behind Anthony Bass. Since moving into the rotation, Bass has improved greatly. He has pitched 23 1/3 innings , struck out 27 batters, and walked 10. In his most recent start, he went a career-high eight innings and limited the Giants to two runs while striking out eight.
Pitching opposite Bass will be Josh Johnson, who hopes to earn his first win of the season. His last outing wasn't so great. He pitched 5 1/3 innings in which he gave up five earned runs on ten hits.
Our Padres have played well the last couple of games. Also, Padres pitchers haven't allowed a run in 18 innings, so hopefully Anthony Bass can keep that streak going.
#Padres lineup: Venable 9, Kotsay 7, Headley 5, Alonso 3, Hundley 2, Hudson 4, Maybin 8, Bartlett 6, Bass 1.
