After being swept in St. Louis, our Padres really need to make something happen over this four-game series in New York. Eric Stults will take on the Mets lineup today and try to right the ship. In his first Padres start last week against the Dodgers, Stults gave up two runs on four hits and three walks in 6 2/3 innings for the no-decision.
Facing the Padres lineup will be Jeremy Hefner, making his first major league start. Hefner spent five years in the Padres farm system before the Mets claimed him. He is hoping to take advantage of the Padres' road troubles (we have the fewest road wins in the league) and continue the Mets' two-game winning streak.
GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!!
