It was a day of new faces and fresh attitudes as the Padres finally ended their run with the good old Hudson/Bartlett double-play combination and moved forward with Everth "I used to have a big-ass poster on the side of the building" Cabrera and Li'l Alexi Amarista, part of the Ernesto Frieri trade.
The faces were new, but the results were somewhat similar as the two went 1 for 6 combined.
The Dodgers meanwhile, took advantage of the joy of newness and the recency of beating an icy hot Stephen Strasburg and scored all the runs, crushing the spirits of the youngsters.
But somehow things feel different, knowing that Jason Bartlett isn't going to strike out pathetically or ground out at the rate of $10k an AB. But I guess we had him for his defense.
Go Padres!

Gaslamp Baller tburnett wins the Alexi Amarista Debut Pick 6 Contest we held yesterday. His team was led by a strong Brandon Beachy effort, who is a pitcher that the Padres should look to acquire if for nothing, but his geographically appropriate last name.
