After a loss on Wednesday and an off day yesterday, our Padres kick off a series against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park tonight. Clayton Richard, who hasn't won a game since his first start of the season, will take the mound and try to put up another quality start. He has pitched a lot better than his 1-4 record indicates, and hopes that will pay off tonight.

Vance Worley will make the start for the Phillies, coming off a loss to the Nationals. Against Washington, he gave up five runs on 11 hits, so he will try to rebound from that and keep the Padres off the scoreboard. In his first and only career outing against San Diego last month, he struck out a career-high 11 batters. He will try to repeat that performance and get the Phillies back in the win column after being swept by the Nats.
