Just yesterday Padres GM Josh Byrnes was singing Bud Black's praises which is like Judas's kiss. If you're a betting fan the safe bet is on Black being fired first.

CBS and Big League Stew point us towards the Vegas odds.

Bud Black, Padres 3/1
Brad Mills, Astros 5/1
Dusty Baker, Reds 11/2
Buck Showalter, Orioles 6/1
Ron Gardenhire, Twins 6/1
Jim Tracy, Rockies 9/1
Charlie Manuel, Phillies 10/1
Joe Girardi, Yankees 10/1
Bruce Bochy, Giants 10/1
Mike Scioscia, Angels 12/1

I however wouldn't make that bet. I could see Black being fired along with just about everybody else when new ownership and leadership assimilate the Padres, but not until then. What's the point? Without a clear direction from the owner there's no reason to overhaul. From everything I hear Black is well liked by leadership. Byrnes worked with Black in their days with the Indians and said that Black was the Spring Training stand out for the way he manages the club. My bet is that some other manager will screw up long before it's Bud's turn.
