Last night, with the traveling jersey in attendance via AIChief, Cory Luebke and Nick Hundley led our Padres to a nice win to start off the road trip against the Giants. Today we will turn to Anthony Bass to keep things going and get us a couple of season firsts: first three-game win streak and first series win.

Bass will be making his fourth start of 2012 after starting the season in the bullpen. He is coming off his first win, in which he gave up just one run (unearned) on three hits in six innings of work. Pitching opposite Joe Blanton, he walked six, but struck out seven. Tonight he will have a little more competition on the mound in Tim Lincecum.

Despite being a two-time Cy Young award winner and World Series champion, Lincecum hasn't had the best start to the 2012 season. He's gone 1-2 so far and has an 8.20 ERA. He hopes to improve upon that when he takes on our Padres tonight. We've lost 11 of our last 15 games against San Francisco, so his chances seem pretty good. But hopefully his pitching troubles will continue and our Padres can keep finding ways to win.

GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!!
