Nick Hundley really wants everybody to know that the way he started the season wasn't what he intended and he's just going to get 4 hits per night for a while until he makes up for it. That's just FYI.
All Cory Luebke ever asked for was a little bit of run support and the Padres granted him that wish tonight. Coming off of a getaway win, the Padres start the quick road trip with a nice little win against the Giants.
Was it a "clean" win? Not really. Again with the errors. Again with some baserunning that is forgiven because we won.
But the end, it was a good win. It was the kind of win that makes you wonder about more wins like it and it coming as the first game of the series, we get the idea in our heads that maybe we can actually take a series.
Tomorrow, we get Tim Lincecum, who's still a tough pitcher, but he's been relatively hittable so far this season. His stuff hasn't quite come together and he may be pressing a little bit. The Padres will need just a little bit of their famous 2012 patience to hopefully take advantage.
I'm banking on O-Dog leading the team to victory.
Who knows. Maybe May is coming early for the Padres this year.
Darklighter, TTG and Friar Fever started things off with us with a bit of a Firsties, and in the end Darklight and Friar Fever stuck it out through the end and TTG went off and celebrated the win somewheres else.
