After dropping the series opener yesterday, our Padres will try to rebound today and a another losing streak.
Joe Wieland takes the mound against the Nationals today. In his last start, he pitched a solid six innings, giving up just one earned run to the Phillies while striking out seven. He looked really great in that outing, and hopefully he can repeat that performance today.
Pitching opposite Wieland will be Jordan Zimmermann, who has pitched very well this season despite having picked up a loss and two no-decisions. In his 21 innings of work this season, he has only allowed three earned runs and two walks, but has been plagued by terrible run support.
Our Padres showed some life on offense in the last two games of the Phillies series, but last night had trouble putting together runs against Gio Gonzalez. They're gonna have to figure something out today. The combination of Zimmermann and the Nats bullpen seems a bit daunting for the offense we saw last night, but hopefully they'll put something together. Thankfully, they'll have a lucky charm in the form of Gaslamp Baller B Cres at Petco Park today.
Tomorrow I take the (organ) mound. And we will win. My record is all time 9-5 in organ games. #notkidding @sharonheilbrunn @gaslampball

I will also be at the game today. Unfortunately, my record so far this year is a paltry 1-4. But, as always, I will keep the faith and hopefully come out of this game at 2-4.
GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!!
