Game 5 Preview: Ken Kendrick's Last Laugh

If that isn't a group portrait of evil, then evil does not exist in this world.

So this is it. The first time we play the Diamondbacks after the whole Jeff Moorad Thing.

Part of me imagines Ken Kendrick watching the game from on high, surrounded by his baseball card collection, like a little troll, thinking, "No former partner of mine will ever own a team unless I allow it!" And then using a Mickey Mantle rookie card to pick dirt out from under his fingernails...

...Because that's the kind of guy he is.

But that's all in the past now.

Now... The Padres have to take that feeling from the 4th game of the season into the 5th game of the season and ignore Kendrick and Moores toasting each other with champagne at the way that the last four years have gone.

I mean, really, Padres. Last weekend, you had Magic Johnson raining hundies all over the visitor dugout. Don't give Ken Kendrick and his pet 60 year old frat guy Kevin Towers any satisfaction.

Trevor Cahill makes his debut for the Diamondbacks. Cahill leans mostly on groundballs and a solid defense behind him. Edinson Volquez leans on good looks, charm and a potent offense helping his cause.

Mostly though, it would be great to get our second win of the season and there's no better day like today to make it happen.

GO PADRES!
