Have you signed up for Yahoo Fantasy Baseball yet?
As a long time user of Yahoo's fantasy offerings, I actually have a little bit of trouble explaining why you should play on the platform. Sure, SB Nation has a partnership with Yahoo this season, but even if they didn't, and we had a partnership with some other fantasy sports offering, there's a 100% chance that I would still be playing at least one league on Yahoo. I have the mobile apps installed already so I can check in on the team. It's the first place I go to when I want to do a mock draft and daydream about what could be.
And there's even keeper league options, which I really should've started in on when we first started the blog like eight years ago. By now it'd be me and Wonko and thenerdhater with jbox complaining whenever one of us mentions the fact that he drafted ROY Huston Street and now how rad is it that he's in San Diego and we've kept him through thick and thin, etc...
I've tried a few of the other fantasy platforms and, sure, they have their bells and whistles, but overall, I'm a Yahoo man, much like one might be a Dapper Dan man. I don't want Fop. I'm a Dapper Dan man. Yahoo man... Whatever.
In any case, the one thing I am sorely tempted to try is the Pro Leagues where you kick in some money and get paid out if you place in the top 3 at the end of the season. How hard could it be? I gotta be better at fantasy baseball than some of these newbies, right?
Tempting... Tempting...
In any case, there's at least one Gaslamp Ball fantasy league opened up, being run by Gaslamp Ballers for Gaslamp Ballers. If somebody else wants to start up another one, go ahead and advertise your spot in the fan posts. I still have to sign up for a league, but I want to get into at least one this season. Sports are always a little more fun with Fantasy.
