Buddy Black has been managing Major League Baseball in San Diego for 6 years. He was already under contract for a seventh, but with a few flicks of a pen he's now promised three more years in Breakfasttown with the Padres. Black is expected to lead a promising group in 2013 after a mixed bag of seasons over the past half dozen years. His managerial record is 464-509 (.477) and nothing to write home about. However, his defenders will say that he's gotten the most out of the talent he's been given. His detractors will wonder how you can keep making financial commitments to a manager that has had more losing seasons than winning ones.
