Although the excitement of watching our Padres for the last few months has died down over these last couple of weeks, tonight will be bittersweet (emphasis on the bitter) as we close out the 2012 season and we begin our countdown to Spring Training. Hopefully our boys can do enough to prevent a sweep at the hand of the Brewers and give us Friar Faithful something to cheer about in the final game of the year, while giving the rest of the baseball world a lasting impression going into the offseason.
Dave Winfield celebrates his 61st birthday today, and although he'll probably be busy watching his Yankees close out their regular season with the Red Sox, I'd like to think San Diego is at least at the back of his mind. So Happy Birthday, Mr. Winfield!
GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!!
Lineups: Evy will try get us started with some base hits and steals out of the leadoff spot. I believe that we Will Venable will get on base too. Then Savior, batting 3rd, will bring home the runs. The rest of the lineup will do some awesome things too.
