With the power out, I wasn't able to watch My Padres and I could only listen to the football game on a hand crank radio. When I would get excited, I would subconsciously crank harder and the volume would go up, therefore making me more excited, therefore making my hand crank harder.

There would have been no cycle of loudness had I been listening to the Padres game.

Instead, now I'm just figuring that we have an extended period of time where we just kinda have to watch the Diamondbacks try to make their run at the World Series in the 10th anniversary of their original run at the World Series. Jonny Dub and I were at games 6 and 7 of that World Series, and, in getting caught up in the excitement, we found ourselves happy for the Diamondbacks. Later, we took extra hot showers and scrubbed grime off of each other's bodies. Not out of guilt, but because that's what we do when we travel together.

So all I know of this game is Ian Kennedy owned us and we're gonna have a losing season and we're officially out of the race. Rather than reflect on that, let's talk about how scary it was to realize last night that modern society functions on electricity. Without it, you spend the evening trying to decide if it's worth using the last 25% of your iPhone's battery on a couple of turns of Words With Friends while realizing your neighbors are real scary looking and wishing you had given into your manly instincts and bought a hand-gun that one time you were at a Wal-Mart in Tempe.
