Padres lose to Diamondbacks, 4-3

Attended the game last night. There was a dude sitting across the aisle from us got up anytime a ball was hit even remotely in our area. He never got one, but hell if he didn't try the f_ck out of getting one.

He was a grown man and with two girls. On first impression, he didn't look like a Foul Ball Guy. There was no glove or anything like that. I imagine he must've made a deal with the ladies that he was with that he could have the sexy with both of them at the same time if he managed to catch a foul ball. To that, I say, more power to you brother. On the other hand, no female would ever want to actually sit next to a Foul Ball Guy, so if this was the deal made to get into their respective sexies, then it backfired horribly.

I also pretty much called Will Venable's triple in the 5th. I told Jonny Dub and jbox that I still loved Will. They told me that I hadn't watched baseball in 6 months and that the Will Venable Train had sailed. I said, "F_ck you. Trains don't sail." They said, "How dare you." I said, "Will may not hit the ball out in this AB, but I bet it gets at least 350 feet." And then sure enough, Will hit his triple. Gave me an excitement.

Later when he volleyed Xavier Nady's warning track shot into a two run home run, my excitement subsided.

Is this what it's like to watch Padres baseball in 2011? I guess I'm down with that.
