Denorfia and Ludwick team up to beat Astros 4-2

I've always liked Chris Denorfia.  I like him for three reasons.

First he plays balls to the wall. When you play that way sometimes the ball literally rolls to the wall when you attempt a diving catch and miss. I accept those consequences.

I also like him because he reminds me of myself, except a little better at baseball and a little worse at blogging. 

Finally, I like him because all of you hate him.

In any case, it brought warmth to my heart to watch him crush a meaningful  home run in Houston yesterday.

Later in the game he'd ended up sliding under the catcher's tag at home on a Ryan Ludwick RBI single. 

I've been hearing GM Jed Hoyer and radio host Coach Kentera saying we need to be patient with Ludwick and Brad Hawpe.  "Give them 100 at bats..." before you judge him. 

That's roughly a months worth of baseball!  We're at the start of a divisional race where one win or one loss could make the difference again this season.  You want me to be patient with our cleanup hitter hitting like this?

I keep thinking about this dialog from Top Gun:

Officer: [in the midst of the MIG battle] Both Catapults are broken, sir.
Stinger: How long will it take?
Officer: It'll take ten minutes.
Stinger: Bullshit ten minutes! This thing will be over in two minutes! Get on it!

So you want me to wait 100 at bats before I should be concerned about Ludwick's or Hawpe's performance?  Bullshit 100 at bats!  We'll be out of this divisional race in a 2 weeks.  Get on it!
