Face of the franchise makes the Padres 25-man roster

When you get a giant-ass billboard, your likelihood of making the team probably is better than most.

Everth Cabrera, the face of the franchise, has finally made the 25-man roster as a backup infielder.

In 26 Spring Training games, Cabrera had a .218 average with 12 hits, six runs scored and three stolen bases.

"We have really tried to shift the mindset and improve his catching and throwing," Black said. "Once he has taken his mind off of the offense, he has done better."

This is a good thing seeing as the Padres invested a ton in terms of huge-ass photographs adorning the sides of buildings for this dude. If Everth hadn't made it, we would've had to do some epic photoshop replacement to fix the enormous photo of our 5th infielder that's plastered all over our stadium.

Says Buddy:

"He has really played well these past few days," Black said. "Having him focus on defense has really helped him offensively."

This works for me too. When I focus on not blogging, I end up writing blog posts.
