Cedric Hunter is now an Oakland Athletic... same with Evan Scribner

Cedric Hunter... now that's a name I haven't heard for a long time.  At one point I'm pretty sure he was one of our better prospects.  In any case I just randomly saw him tweet that he is now an Oakland Athletic. He sounds excited to chill with another guy who he thought was in the A's organization but is instead a free agent.  That must suck to be picked up by the A's and find out you have no friends to chill with.

[UPDATE]

A's claim Scribner and Hunter off waivers

Scribner, 26, made his MLB debut last season with the Padres, posting a 7.07 ERA in 10 appearances over to stints with the San Diego club. He landed on the Padres' 60-day DL after a strained shoulder. Scribner was drafted by Arizona in 2007 and traded to San Diego for Tony Clark.

Hunter, 23, made the Padres' opening day roster and made his MLB debut last year, going 1-for-4 with a walk in six games. The left-handed hitter batted .255 with two home runs and 81 RBI for Tiple-A Tuscon the rest of the season. A strained right groin shut down his season in July.
