Padres win one, need four more

One at a time, boys. One at a time.

Have I told you that Will Venable is my favorite? Probably only since Spring Training.

When I heard he'd be in the lineup tonight, I was a little worried that he would be playing hurt because he wouldn't want to let his team down, a la Jake Peavy playing blind that one time or playing with a broken rib that other time.

We don't need that kind of manliness.

Instead, that worry was thrown out the muthaf_ckin' window with some amazing defense by my boy. Throw up some defensive highlights. Be a force on offense. All in a day's work.

All that he has to do to finish out my admiration of him is to hit for the cycle in one of these last four games. He will do it. He's just that way.

Oh and the Padres won the game.
