Adrian Gonzalez went 4 for 4 tonight including a shift beating bunt. Feeling the pressure of Adrian's brisk walk to first base the Pirates' pitcher McDonald threw the ball away and Adrian speed walked to second base.
Jerry Hairston also did nice things. He went 2-4 with a big homer. Miguel Tejada did more plate sliding than a primordial Earth. Chase Headley made such rad plays at third that I chuckled that Kouz's glove is in the Hall of Fame.
Kevin Correia was awesome tonight until the 7th inning when he gave up 3 hits and a walk. I'll never forget the look on Correia's face when earned runs started crossing the plate at a furious pace. I guess when Bud Black has a 7 run lead he plays it loose. The Pirates took advantage and scored 5 unanswered runs.
A buttload of other stuff happened too, but the Padres held onto the lead and took another series win. The boys now have a 20-13-4 series record.
Throwback Thursday tomorrow. Be there!
