Hooray! Padres win again and complete their 4th sweep of the season and their 15th series win.
If I counted correctly, this season the Padres series record is 15-7-3.
Mat Latos had a little trouble with location and umpiring but had a quality start despite his past troubles in Florida. Latos left the game with men on base and the lead but the Marlins were able to tie the game at two after his departure.
With the score still tied Will Venable CRUSHED a two run homer into the right field seats to put the Padres into the lead for good. More amazing than the distance of the home run was the accuracy. He was able to miss all the empty seats and actually hit the ball to a fan who promptly threw it back on the field.
Anybody else notice that Venable was wearing a bright green Silly Bandz on his right hand? Is this the secret to his recent power? Most definitely. I'm guessing he is harnessing the power of the most deadly predator in the ocean by wearing the shark bracelet.
