Open Thread, 6/26/2010: Padres vs Marlins. Unstoppable Force vs Immovable Object

So Jack Johnson (that be the Marlins starter against our Padres today) is going for a Major League Record during the game. If he can hold us to 1 run or fewer, he will hold a record with Bob Gibson and Jack Coombs for most consecutive starts giving up 1 earned run or fewer.

Jack Johnson be the Unstoppable Force.

However, the Padres are a Team of Density, which is an Immovable Object. Very dense.

Now, I'm not one to get in the way of history, but I be willing to strike a deal with the Marlins that they just go ahead and not score any runs against us and we'll give Jack Johnson his record. That, or give up some unearned runs. I be good with that too. Let us win 1-0 or like 2-0 with 2 unearned and then everybody sleeps happy tonight.

Is that a deal? Deal! Shake on it. Good.

GO PADRES!!!
