Trying to vote Padres into the All Star game is futile. Let's do it anyway.

A few weeks ago I tried to rally the troops to vote some of our beloved Padres into the All Star Game. Something didn't feel right about that. It was really disingenuous considering I'm the same guy who last year said All Star voting is for suckers.  I'm also the guy who told you how pointless it was to vote for Adrian Gonzalez the year before that.

Maybe you picked up on my turmoil within  Maybe that's why just about everybody told me that they weren't going to vote because it was too boring and not worth it.

But hear me out.

Maybe if we own up to the fact that our votes don't count and that even considering voting for Padres is a complete waste of time then we find our real motivation.

I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

You see if we vote knowing that it is completely futile and meaningless to the rest of the baseball world we find meaning it in for ourselves.

Nobody gave the Padres a chance this season.  Frankly they didn't deserve a chance.  I can't help but think that that's part of the reason they're winning.  To send a message to all the experts, know-it-alls and most importantly to themselves.

Do something stupid right now on the team's behalf go to MLB.com and Vote for some Padres
