A call to arms to all Padres fans from my Dad

Hey friends,

As some of you know, I get my die-hard fandom from my Dad. A couple of you have met him. Just like you, he's pretty psyched about the upcoming series against the Dodgers and is hoping for a packed and loud Petco. Unlike some hacks who seem to think Padres fans are dissing the team, Dad would like to take this opportunity to "rally the troops" and get the masses pumped for our first place team. Without further ado, here's his message:

Attention Padre Fans,

We have been pleasantly surprised by our battling Padres in this first month and a week of the season.  Taking another series against the Giants was pleasing as we strengthen our hold on the top spot.  We continue to witness the resiliency of this well balanced team... good pitching, timely hitting, strong defense, aggressive base running, along with smart coaching gives us a great chance to win each and every night.  A few days ago we learned of the tragedy with one team member’s family, so everything is not perfect.  With the big weekend coming up and the Dodgers coming to town, it gives us, the fan base, a chance to show the team what we think of them.  Sellouts seem probable for each of the 3 games, which is great.  LET'S TURN IT UP A BIG, BIG NOTCH THIS WEEKEND.   We all know what a playoff atmosphere is like in this town, whether at Petco Park or at the big stadium, so bring it with you to the games, won’t you?  Be friendly and courteous to those few Dodger fans that venture into our place while being loud and supportive towards our beloved Padres.  Set the tone for a great series and for whatever the rest of the season brings us.  It promises to be maximum in excitement and forever memorable.

One lifelong Padre fan,
Steve
