Padres lose 0-7, manage to scrape together 2 hits

Note: I did not watch or follow this game in any way.

Rockies pitcher Jorge De La Rosa p0wn3d the Padres in the Colorado Home Opener. The Padres had two hits, a single in the 4th by Chase Headley and a single in the 8th courtesy of Everth Cabrera.  With 12 strikeouts total the Padres line up was simply pathetic.  It was like they were swinging pixie sticks and I don't even know what that means.

If the Padres are hitting this poorly in hitters parks, I fear for them when they return home to the blackhole that is Petco Park.  I was hoping a few big offensive games early in the season would give them some confidence heading into our home opener, but in order for that plan to work they'll need to turn up the volume over the weekend.

Clayton Richard gave up 3 runs over 7 innings and Sean Gallagher gave up 4 runs in his one inning of work in the 8th.

I miss Spring Training.

If you're keeping track at home 1-1 when writing Game Threads, Dex is 0-2.  It might be time to get Jonny Dub and his dumb cats in here.
