We are all set for some rubbermatch action. Kevin Correia faces Ian Kennedy.
Kevin Correia is respectable against the Diamondbacks, though Gerardo Parra has hit him hard in the past (.417/.417/.667 in 12 AB) and so has Adam LaRoche (.500/.615/.900 in 10 AB). Blah blah blah small sample blah.
On the flip side, nobody in today's starting lineup has ever faced Ian Kennedy at the big league level. How is that possible? Is that even possible? Oh I know how it's possible. Kennedy hasn't started a game at the big league level in over a year after missing pretty much all of 2009 to an arm injury.
Look for the Padres to take two strikes looking with just about every hitter just to test Kennedy out and see if #nerves are gonna get to him.
Also, this lineup is probably much more to Gaslamp Baller liking with Everth leading off and Scott Hairston getting his first start of the season in center field. Doesn't our lineup look halfway decent? Shave and a haircut and I would hold hands with that lineup. I would hold hands with it and walk down the street in front of a hip restaurant where people would see us.
I am 0-1 in Game Threads. JBox is 1-0. I told jbox to write this one up, but he says I need to get back on the horse. So here I am. Giddyup, bitches.
