Yesterday, during the earthquake, I stood up and rode that sucker out.
Taking an earthquakes can be a lot like taking a punch or jumping from a moving vehicle. You have to roll with it and let your body go a little bit limp if you're planning on moving during the quake.
I was at an Easter Sunday party and after the tremor died down and everybody was looking a little shook up, I shouted, "PLAY BALL!"
I imagine lots of others did the same thing. It's a pretty easy joke.
Today marks the start of the season. I don't know about you, but I'm #nerves. I feel like the Padres have it in them to climb above .500 again this season. I've looked around a little bit and I honestly don't see how we can't. The only thing I imagine is people getting tired. Dog days of summer and all that.
Also, if we start out really strong, I can see people pointing to last season's strong start. Fool me once, Padres. Shame on you. Fool me twice. Shame on me.
Me, Padres. Me.
Join us for the Open Thread today at work. I imagine it'll show up sometime around 5:00 for the 3:30PM start. Nothing like getting into midseason form in April.
GO PADRES!!! OPENING DAY!!! BOO COLUMBUS DAY!!! COLUMBUS DAY YOU SUCK!!!
