"Hey Bro, putting pictures of girls in bikinis on Gaslamp Ball is going to get me in trouble at work! I guess I'll just have to stop reading instead of working and your traffic will plummet. Your choice Bro."
I'm kind of late on this rumor, but former Pad Squadder Carrie Prejean will supposedly be on the 22nd season of CBS's reality show Survivor. I guess it's called Survivor: Redemption Island. This via the surprisingly reliable message board Survivor Sucks. I think she'd make a great contestant on the show, but it looks like this season will rehash a bunch of other veteran Survivor contestants, which I'm not in favor of. They just had Survivor: All-Stars last season, they're going back to that well too soon. The best seasons feature all new contestants. It will be interesting to see how Carrie reacts to the constant stress from the elements and game play while trying to maintain her image and manipulate other players.
I wonder if Kevin Towers would have preferred the GM job with the Mets. After he was dismissed from the Padres he mentioned he wanted to work with a larger market team. Was he considered for the Mets position or did it only become available after he took the GM job in Arizona? Also is this GM job for Alderson a demotion from CEO or is it a promotion from unemployed?
Even though it'd probably make for some good blogging, I'm kind of hoping that John Moores' divorce trial doesn't go public. I'm not sure I want to know any more intimate details about him and his Gynecologist mistress. After his affair led to the divorce and subsequent collapse of the Padres, I'm all for moving on.
I'm not too worried about about Jon Garland and Yorvit Torrealba becoming Free Agents. Those dudes are coming off a really nice year and as expected they'll be looking for big contracts. Who knows if they'll even be able to perform at the same level next year. As Hoyer said after the end of the season, they don't want to bring back the exact same team, because obviously that team wasn't good enough. I look forward to seeing what kind of talent Hoyer can dig up.
