First-round pick, Donavan Tate, who Monday agreed to a $6.25 million signing bonus, will have his professional career delayed by an abdominal strain.

Grady Fuson, the Padres vice president of player development and scouting, said Tate first complained about a pain in his side on Thursday. "If it's not better my Monday, he could return to San Diego for tests," Fuson said.
