Reeling Padres make call to the minors
"Mat is throwing the ball as well as anyone in our organization," Padres manager Bud Black said after the Padres lost for a 12th time in their past 14 games.
"His performance in the minors has been outstanding. Our minor league people and (general manager) Kevin Towers agree it's his time."
