Game Thread, 5/13, Friars vs. Baby Bears

When Dex, Jon, Kev and I played baseball together awhile ago Kev would miss every other week to fly to Chicago to spend time with his girlfriend who is now his wife. The other guys on the team would always comment when he got back "Hey look, Chicago decided to show up today. Hey everybody, Chicago is here. How you doing Chicago?" That kind of became his nickname even though we tried to get "El Pussy Gato" to stick.

Kev's got a weird crush on all things Chicago. I was asking Kev how he celebrated Mother's Day, now that they have a daughter. He told me that they have a Chicago deep dish pizza mailed overnight on dry ice from some restaurant back there for special occasions. He says that it's expensive but it's delicious.

I asked him why the last time we all went up to his house he served us a cold Costco pizza. I was told it wasn't a special enough occasion. I'm not sure the point of all of this except that we are playing the Cubs and that Kev doesn't mind being a jerk to his best buddies.

Chris Young is pitching tonight, don't expect the Padres to win, be like Eckstein... smile through the pain.

Go Padres!
