San Diego Hall of Champions hosting blood drive to commemorate 9/11 heroes

XX 1090 AM, San Diego 1700 AM and 105.7 The Walrus are joining the San Diego Blood Bank in remembering America’s September 11th Heroes at the 7th Annual Patriots Day Blood and Bone Marrow Drive at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park on Thursday, September 11, from 9 am to  3 pm.

All blood donors will be awarded a "Never Forget" T-shirt and a pair of Live Nation Concert Tickets (while supplies last) to the following groups: Santana, Maroon Five and Counting Crows, Switchfoot and Third Day and the Led Zeppelin Tribute Band, Led Zepagain.

And as a point of pride for our great city and the people in it:

The blood and bone marrow drive on September 11th is a commemoration of the dedicated San Diegans who gave blood in September 2001, as well as the many heroes who lost their lives that day.  Thanks to the U.S. Navy, the San Diego Blood Bank was the first to fly 380 pints of blood requested by the New York Blood Center to New York at 1p.m., on September 11th, 2001.
