Paul DePodesta on the possible Peavy trade

Paul DePodesta's blog:

So, to answer the most basic question: are we going to trade Jake Peavy? We'll see if someone offers us a compelling deal that makes us better.

DePo takes us through some examples of teams that traded their best player and immediately became better, there are a lot of them.  Head over to his blog for the rest of his post, it's good.

I also just really like his opening:

I haven't read the papers or listened to the radio, so I don't know what has been written or what has been said. What I do know, though, is what actually is happening.

Booyah! That's how you throw it down when you're the Special Assistant for Baseball Operations.

Why is it that Sandy Alderson and Paul DePodesta are saying basically the same thing, but I feel all warm and fuzzy inside after DePo says it?
