Padres invite Brockton Rox star to Spring Training and you have no idea what I'm talking about

The Brockton Rox are a Can-Am independent league team out of Brockton, MA and the Padres have invited their star outfielder, Tony Gonzalez, to Spring Training. Mr. Gonzalez was also Can-Am Rookie of the Year last season, which, at any level of professional ball, is nothing to shake a stick at... Or in fact it's something to shake a stick at if you are an old man with a cane and use that gesture to express pride.

Is this the answer to our outfield worries? The pessimist in me says, "Of course not", but the optimist in me says, "Dude... It seriously might be." Also, when I first read this piece, I thought that the dude's name was Brockton Rox as opposed to Brockton Rox being the team that he plays for. If he makes the club, I will be referring to Tony Gonzalez as Brockton and/or Rox.

I, for one, am looking forward to young Brockton making an impact on our beloved Pads.
