Padres are currently in a 3-way tie for first place in the West, with the Giants only a game and a half behind. The D'Backs are finally giving the other horses a little bit of space.
Strangely enough... We should probably be rooting for the D'Backs to get back into the race a little bit as they're currently playing the Rockies this weekend and we'd like for the Rockies to fall out a little bit. On the other side of the coin, the Dodgers play the Giants this weekend so we'd probably like a split, or for the Giants to win the series 3-1. The Padres get the Nationals and with any kind of knock on wood luck, we'll smoke them while the rest of the division battles it out.
I haven't bothered to look and see if the 5-way tie going into the All-Star break is mathematically possible. That might be too much to wrap my brain around on a nice summer day.
