You smell that? Padres stink. Peavy is 4-10 and these aren't hard luck losses. He's getting rocked. He says he's not hurt and that he feels great, so what is it? He's leaving pitches up and they are getting smoked to all parts of the field. Maybe it's the trade rumors.
Kevin Towers and Bochy are both denying rumors that Peavy is being traded to Boston.
Nothing to Peavy rumors: Bochy and general manager Kevin Towers both were miffed, to put it mildly, by reports in the electronic media that had Jake Peavy going to Boston in a deal for third baseman Mike Lowell.
"I talked to Peavy [on Thursday night] about it," Towers said. "He told me he had 13 phone calls about being traded to Boston. I didn't hear it, but someone told me it was on ESPN.
