Don't Shake Piazza's hand or he'll crush it...

... like Superman did to General Zod in Superman II.

Okay this is the longest article about Mike Piazza's hands ever written.  We get it, he has strong hands.

The needle screeched to a quivering stop. Piazza had maxed out the device, a dynamometer, which measures up to 200 pounds of force.

Anybody have a dynamometer?  I'd like to try this.

Later they tell us that Mike Cameron maxed out the machine too, but where's his article about his strong hands?!

"It explains some things," Hutcheson said with a smile.

Okay I don't even want to know what Hutcheson is smiling about.

Two of Piazza's favorite drills are pull-ups and hanging from a chin-up bar. Even now, the 215-pounder can dangle for more than two minutes.

"I always tell kids the best way to get your strength is just grab onto a pull-up bar and hang there as long as you can," Piazza said. "I guarantee you, it's not going to be more than a minute."

I don't mean to brag or to call Mike Piazza a wimp... but when I was in elementary school, we had a school wide contest called "the hang" and we would hang from a pull-up bar for as long as possible.  I won that event after hanging for more than 5 minutes.  Not only that, it was easy.

I'm gonna try this tomorrow and let you know if it is harder as an adult.  I suggest you all do the same.  Let me know how long you can hang.
