The Marlin Mermaids are holding tryouts for next seasons crew. From what I hear the competition is fierce.
The Marlins have taken Baseball Dance Teams to a new level. I'm not sure how any other team could even compete at this point.
The question begs to be asked. Do the Padres need a dance team?
Just look at the good they are doing for the communities in Florida.
The Marlins Mermaids are also Spokespersons for the new "Get Hooked on Reading" program for kids. The Mermaids go to various local elementary schools to promote reading.
When I was in elementary school we would have some crusty old librarian trying to encourage us to read. It's hardly fair.
