If the Giants can pull this off, they would have one of the game's premier offensive forces in the middle of their lineup. They also would have no room for Barry Bonds, as both are left fielders.
I'm not so much worried about the Giants acquiring Manny. The Padres have been so worried about having to face Barry Bonds for years that anybody else seems like a piece of cake and ice cream. Manny Ramirez? PSHAW. He ain't no Barry Bonds. And he's mobile while being bad defensively, as opposed to Barry who was just immobile, but good when the ball could get to him.Update [2006-11-27 10:52:15 by Dex]: McCovey Chronicles thinks this is just leverage in the Barry dealings.
