Open Thread, 6/12/05: San Diego vs. Southside Chicago

Great win last night.  I always thought that Today would be our best chance for a win.  Freddy Garcia vs. Brian Lawrence.  Lawrence is coming off a stellar start, the key again will be run support.  Garcia is 6-3 and Lawrence is 3-6.

The UT gives us the skinny:

The skinny: Garcia, formerly with Seattle, has thrown 58213 innings against San Diego and gone 4-2 with a 1.99 ERA. This season he is 5-1 with a 2.28 ERA on the road. He's found new life after leaving the Mariners. Lawrence has a 2.76 ERA at home, compared with 7.36 on the road. He faced the White Sox in 2003 and gave up four runs in seven innings of a 6-5 defeat. His out pitch is his sinker. In his last start against Cleveland, Lawrence pitched eight shutout innings without getting the win.
