Before the game, the jumbotron had this weird Top Gun intro where they had Top Gun quotes that matched up to players. I think Nevin got, "You can be my wingman anytime". Did somebody else have "Too close for missles, I'm switching to guns"? It was such a weird blur of military clips and Padres and ocean waves and downtown San Diego. I'm sure there's a Village People joke in there somewhere.
Jess and I ate at Oggi's pizza in the park. I had the Padres slice which was chicken, onions, mushrooms and bell pepper that night. Jess had pepperoni. The pepperoni is thick and greasy. I thought it was good, but I think it made Jess a little sick. Mine was sweet and flavorful. Jbox got two slices, but I didn't see which two. That's a lot considering it's $6 for the Padres slice, $5.50 for Pepperoni, $5.00 for cheese.
We saw the Pad Squad again in the 9th in full force for the ringing of the rally bell. The Pad Squadders that we met were all there, but somehow, with all of them in a group, we got shy and didn't talk to them. I tried to talk to Erica the Visor Girl, but she was wearing her visor and she was cheering in her intense way and my mouth got all dry and pasty and I couldn't get the words out. She passed within two feet of me and I was gonna say, "Hey remember me?" But all that came out was, "Purdy rabbits...So soft..."
Dude and somebody else wrote a diary! And it's pretty good too. Hyzdu does have great hair.
